Its 84 TH/s was a compromise, allowing for solid power without paying the full cost for the flagship S19. It was a machine for pragmatists, not for record-breakers.

But the low entry price comes with a cost in the long run, and that cost is power consumption. 3150 W of power for 84 TH/s gives us a catastrophically inefficient figure by modern standards: 37.5 J/Th. This is almost twice as bad as current models. This figure is a verdict. In today’s realities, the T19 can only be profitable in one case: if the cost of your electricity is close to zero. For any commercial operator with market electricity tariffs, this machine is a direct path to working at a loss.

So what is its value today? In its origin. The T19 is built on the same indestructible platform as the entire 19 series. It’s the same reliable casing, the same proven four-fan cooling system. It is predictable, studied inside and out, and spare parts for it are easy to find. It’s a tank that will grind its terahashes as long as it’s supplied with electricity. It is bought on the secondary market not for profitability, but for its extreme cheapness and reputation as reliable hardware.

Ultimately, the Antminer T19 is a classic example of “garage mining” or a lot for farms with free electricity. It’s a ticket on a train that left long ago, but which can still get you to the next station if the ride is free. Investing in it today is only possible if you fully understand its monstrous appetite and have the ability to feed it without looking at the meter. For everyone else, this machine is already history.
