Alex Wilso
journalist
Alex Wilso is a technical journalist, crypto analyst, and miner with practical experience since 2017. With a degree in Programming & IT Education, Alex specializes in deep analysis of mining hardware and explaining complex blockchain technologies in accessible terms.
Experience: From 3 GPUs to Industrial Mining
Alex's journey began in 2017 with a classic home farm on three GTX 1070 GPUs. After surviving the "crypto winter" and selling equipment during the 2018 market crash, he used this time to analyze mistakes and study the market fundamentals.
In late 2019, Alex returned to mining as a professional, betting on ASIC devices. He managed Antminer S9, Whatsminer M21, and M30S lineups. As a technical enthusiast, he goes beyond standard settings: experimenting with noise reduction boxes, custom firmware, and implementing immersion cooling systems to improve efficiency.
Trading & Strategy
Alex follows a hybrid financial strategy: part of the mined coins is converted to fiat for operational costs, and part is used for active trading on spot and futures markets. This allows him to evaluate the crypto industry not just as an engineer, but also as a trader.
Education & Mission
Alex holds a university degree as a Teacher of Programming and Information Technologies. This academic background allows him to professionally dissect code and technical documentation, translating it into clear language for a broad audience. He regularly attends conferences on crypto, InfoSec, and investments.
Mission: "My goal is to remove the barrier between technology and the user. I gather information, test hypotheses on my own hardware, and explain complex mining terms in simple words."
