It still possesses an impressive punch in terms of hashrate, but its endurance (energy efficiency) no longer allows it to compete on equal terms with the younger champions. Today, its niche is for sites with access to ultra-cheap or virtually free electricity, where high kilowatt consumption is not a critical factor. For everyone else, it serves as a vivid reminder of how quickly time and technology fly by in the world of mining.
